The hotel’s enclosed courtyard design, secluded parking, helpful staff, and the bar and restaurant were all great. However, we couldn’t have just one bedside light because both were controlled by the same switch, and the TV wasn’t very smart—streaming services didn’t work and we couldn’t cast from our mobile to the screen, even though those options were advertised.

Breakfast had a good variety, dinner was fine, the room was comfortable and cosy, and the fridge was a welcome bonus. Most staff were fantastic—especially Siobhan & Jamie, and the youngsters—Ashley, Hamish, Daniel & Cody. The restaurant lacked atmosphere despite the lovely staff, we didn’t like the tables laid out in rows, and the temperature was cool in the eating area.
