“The perfect location to relax and enjoy Matlock .”
The Gables proved to be the ideal spot for our first trip to Matlock; the property itself is exceptional and the hosts kept us feeling warm and friendly. From the Derwent suite we enjoyed amazing views across the valley toward the Heights of Abraham. Both Matlock and Matlock Bath were within walking distance, though you have to climb a very steep hill. It served as a perfect base for exploring Bakewell, Chatsworth, and beyond. Our room was beautiful, with every little detail thought out—from fresh milk in the fridge to a lovely China teapot and teacups, wine glasses, and a large jar of bath bubbles for the huge freestanding bath. Breakfast was delicious, offering every menu combination. I especially liked the fresh fruit platter and yoghurt, and the locally produced sausages and bacon were tasty. It was a perfect place to celebrate a special big birthday. Thank you!
