There were plenty of restaurants and fast‑food spots nearby, which was great. We were close to the highway, Gurnee Mills Mall, and Six Flags. The forest reserves were nice for morning walks and scenery if you’re not a local. The parking lot was smaller than expected, and the view was literally the backside of a brick building only about 4 feet away. The whole building smelled like bleach even though there was no pool, which made us nauseous on arrival and forced us to air out the room all day.

The price and proximity to the Navy Base were great. My husband, who smokes, liked the bench outside. I loved the retro vibe. The staff and cleanliness were amazing! We really liked the restaurant. The pillows on the bed were uncomfortable; that’s the only negative I can mention.

The staff were great and the room was the cleanest. The knocking noise from the fridge in room 130 was a bother.

The staff were super friendly and there were lots of options nearby. Breakfast was listed as included, but it was just muffins and orange juice and apple juice.
