I just came down from the Izoard and was immediately greeted by a little fraction of houses surrounded by meadows and high mountains. I never expected such a delightful place with an even more delightful kitchen. Vanessa welcomed me warmly and showed me the parking before escorting me to a spacious first‑floor room with a large bed, tastefully decorated, warm and clean. The bathroom was large, fully equipped, with a big shower, a separate toilet, all elegantly furnished and with towels that matched the décor. Dinner was a real surprise: on the second floor in a huge room with a lounge for guests, finely restored antique furnishings, uniquely designed lights, and tables set with a theme‑matching napkin holder – ours was the mouton. The dishes arrived and you instantly realise they’re not ordinary; only a chef with such imagination can plate like art, making each dish unique in taste, colour and aroma. Breakfast was exactly what we expected and arrived on time: the most common items were croissants and corn flakes, everything else was homemade or made on the spot – yoghurt, bread, jams, hot waffles, fruit – all served with a smile or a chat. Overall, I’d say a 10 is an underestimate, but the algorithm won’t accept an 11.
