Location was good. The place isn’t well soundproofed, so street noise can be heard, but it’s manageable.
“Noise and Check‑In Slip‑Up”
The place was fine, but the street noise was a real nuisance. On top of that, the host forgot to send the check‑in instructions, which made the arrival a bit stressful.
“Great Location, Nothing Else”
The spot is spot‑on for Brussels—central, good value, and the service was solid. Honestly, there wasn’t anything else to note; the stay went smoothly.
“I neither recommend, nor advise against it.”
I paid almost 120 euros per night for an apartment that turned out to be on the fourth floor without an elevator. The manager kindly reached out and offered me a privately owned apartment nearby that did have an elevator, and I accepted. I’m only reviewing the apartment I stayed in, though I suspect the first one was worse. I really liked the location, close to Brussels’ main square and the central station. I also appreciated the staff’s helpfulness—providing different pillows and changing the bed linen at least once during my nine‑night stay. The apartment is split into three sections, and the kitchen had been refurbished; although I didn’t use it, it looked nice. The nightly rate was by far the highest I’ve paid in Europe for a comparable apartment. The bed had horrible, small, limp pillows; I struggled to sleep. The towels given initially weren’t clean. I reported this and asked for replacements. In my view, the bathroom needs a complete overhaul; it’s quite old. The toilet brush needs replacing, as does the sink faucet, which sprays water everywhere when turned on. The tile grout is all dirty and black, and the area near the bathtub wasn’t cleaned well—there may have been some mold. It definitely doesn’t look inviting to use. I’ll add photos later if I can.
“Cozy but No Air‑Conditioning”
The apartment was snug and compact, with a lovely view and all the basics—hot water on tap, a tiny fridge, plenty of hangers. The downside? No AC, so it felt stuffy and the street noise seeped in through open windows. A small fan helped a bit but was still noisy. We were lucky the weather wasn’t scorching, and while we wore slippers, the dust near the bed made me wonder if going barefoot was a good idea. Still, I really liked the place.
