The room is very spacious, with a lovely view of the garden shown in the pictures; the terrace stays shaded all day, making it a pleasant spot to relax unless there’s loud music or an unpleasant smell. The bed is comfortable, and you can have lunch and dinner there, which is handy because there aren’t many restaurants nearby. The tofu I tried was delicious. I can confirm the earlier complaints: noisy neighbors and a burning smell from the neighborhood. Also, the house is hard to locate—just a normal-looking building in a regular neighborhood, no sign, and Google Maps isn’t very reliable here. It’s a few minutes’ walk to the beach, and the bathroom door is a bit stiff and loud to open, probably due to the recent big earthquake—this could bother someone else trying to sleep.

A cozy “Indonesia style” guesthouse in Maumere that’s spacious, clean, and staffed by friendly people who help with motorbike and driver arrangements. Breakfast is served on a terrace right outside the room, surrounded by a lovely garden. The place isn’t right on the sea, but a 10‑minute walk takes you to a quiet, clean beach near the Amrita hotel, where you can enjoy a bar and restaurant. Finding the building can be a bit tricky, but locals are always helpful and kind.
