Tanegashima Iwasaki Hotel

“The Tanegashima Iwasaki Hotel is one of the best hotels we’ve stayed at.”

The hotel sits right on a good surf break and is happy to accommodate surfers. The rooms are large, clean, and offer fantastic views. Room service was excellent, and the meals were good, especially the traditional Kagoshima breakfast we had one morning – delicious! Reception and dining staff were friendly and helpful, and the room service team was very friendly too. The building has a retro 80s vibe (it’s pink), which we loved. Nothing else to add.

The scenery was fantastic, the room was spacious, and the food was good. The mattress felt cheap and stiffly sprung.

The ocean views from our room were breathtaking, but unfortunately, the price was a bit steep. While the views were worth it, the cost made it a bit of a splurge.

“良いところだっただけに、ちょっと残念な思いが残る”

The hotel's scenic location and proximity to the beach were definite highlights of our stay. However, we encountered a few issues that made our experience a bit rocky. The fridge in our room wasn't working properly, and the air conditioning struggled to keep up with the heat. To make matters worse, the counter at the front desk was a bit too high for me, and the tablet they used for check-in was quite bright, making it hard for me to read.

“It’s been a long time since I’ve enjoyed a hotel stay this much”

This property is a real gem, situated between two geologic outcroppings on a stunning surfing beach. The hotel's impeccable maintenance shines through in every aspect, from the spacious rooms to the delicious meals in the on-site restaurant. The staff were warm and courteous, making our stay even more enjoyable. If I have one minor complaint, it's that a small desk for writing or computer work would have been a nice addition.
