“Poor management, rooms not up to standard and bad hospitality - very bad value for the money.”
The location was good: a short walk to the beach. Air conditioning worked. Got new rooms after an issue with the room. The pool deck is very nice. When we arrived, the hotel manager didn't know if we had paid or not, or if a deposit had been taken as per the booking. We had to provide the amount to them from our booking. On arrival, we were not assisted with our luggage, and did not get a full tour of the property/amenities and no welcome drinks. Our room's floor was constantly LEAKING. Water kept seeping through the gaps in the floorboards. The manager was nowhere to be found, and the room had no phone to call reception, or a number to call. So we left a beach towel overnight to soak up the water. The next morning, the towel was completely SOAKED. We were given a different room because of this, but the property did not call anyone to fix the issue. After 2 days, the floorboards in the room were popping out and the wood was soft – very bad maintenance. The manager seemed like he was doing us a favour in all interactions, instead of being hospitable. He was the only staff member dealing with guests, including cooking the breakfast. We had booked a tour which he ensured would accept card payments, and they did not – which meant we had to scramble to withdraw cash from an ATM. WiFi didn't work for first day. The room's shower and bathroom had missing tiles and exposed pipes. Unacceptable for price. The TV in the room had been removed, with exposed cables sticking out. Amenities missing from room but listed on the site: Garden view, Kitchen, Desk, Refrigerator, Ironing facilities, Coffee machine, Hairdryer, Kitchenware, Oven, Stovetop, Toaster. There was a communal kitchen, but the listing did not say that it was communal. The kitchen was missing an oven, and the appliances that were there were dirty. There was also a sink missing. All the rooms were left unlocked, with the keys in the doors. There was no security at the back of the property – not secure. All of the above points are not good for any accommodation, but especially unacceptable for the price it is listed for.
