Four friends stayed two nights at The Rock & Wild Sigiriya, and it turned out to be a highlight of our trip; Janith, an amazing host, guide, and pure soul, welcomed us like family, and his parents and brother were just as warm, making us feel at home from the start. He showed us the best of Sigiriya: Dambulla Temple, a secret sunset spot, sunrise over Lion Rock, and an unforgettable elephant safari in Kaudulla National Park, and the homemade food was delicious. We would recommend this place with our eyes closed to anyone seeking true immersion in Sigiriya, with all excursions organized for you. We left with our hearts full and feeling truly blessed. බොහොම ස්තුතියි, අපි ගොඩක් සතුටුයි! ❤️
Host Janis was very kind and arranged daily pick‑ups; we stayed for four days and appreciated being able to consult via WhatsApp beforehand. I worried about when she would be off, and the balcony view was wonderful. I was traveling alone, but a cute dog always came by during breakfast and was soothing. The natural setting means there are many insects, which is unavoidable and not unique to this place.
It was a really great accommodation with a direct view of Lion’s Rock and a very nice, quiet location. The best part of our stay was the host, who we rarely find so loving and attentive; Janith even picked us up for dinner in the evening, drove us to a sunrise hike early in the morning, organized transport for the departure day, and more. A big recommendation!!
The family was very nice, breakfast was delicious, and the safari experience was great.

We loved our three‑night stay; Janith and his family were the nicest people and made us feel very welcome. Janith was available at all times for tuk‑tuk rides and took us on a day trip to Anuhadupura and a jeep safari to see many elephants. The view of Lion Rock from the balcony is superb, the Sri Lankan‑style breakfast was great, and with only two rooms the place is quiet and peaceful.
