“A beautiful property that is secluded, full of wildlife, and right off the beach.”
I loved the location—peaceful, secluded, full of wildlife, and just steps from the beach—and the pool was enjoyable, but access to the beach was intermittently locked and they should give guests a key.
“Less than ideal, would not recommend”
The stay fell short: a huge cockroach in the bathroom, ants everywhere, no hot water, and I was overcharged by at least $30 USD when paying in cash (colones). The front desk insisted their currency conversion was right and wouldn’t give me the change I deserved or the extra money. The next day, the same staff admitted the overcharge and returned my cash, so that was fixed. The air conditioning worked great, but a pillowcase and a bedsheet each had a big orange stain. The location is great, yet the driveway to the rooms is a death trap on foot—straight uphill and a 10‑15 minute walk; you basically need a car to reach the rooms. The beach is 100 m away, but we weren’t allowed to swim there; a lifeguard was shouting that the swim spot is further down the beach. Overall, the stay didn’t justify the price, the place wasn’t very clean, and there was no clarity about the beach and driveway. We were never told about a pool, even though it apparently existed.
“Older hotel with beach access.”
The location is excellent—just a short walk to the beach, restaurants, and the national park. The veranda in front of our room was nice for sitting and reading, and the pool was pleasant. The air conditioning kept the room cool for sleep. The bathroom was very small and cramped, as was the shower.
“Ok- die Lage ist toll!”
The spot is fantastic—straight access to the sea! The property feels old, and the restaurant is shut down.
“Hotel Arboleda, Manuel Antonio”
Direct beach access is the highlight of this hotel. It’s very quiet and private. The facilities are neglected and old, and there are no trash cans in common circulation areas.
