“Wounderful stay in a hotel with fantastic panorama - thank you for great experience!”
The Himalaya Drisha Resort sits a little outside Dhulikhel on a hillside facing north, toward the Himalaya. The hotel has a large main building and several smaller units with spacious rooms and north‑facing balconies. We visited in mid‑September, still during monsoon season. Even with some rainy days, we had two nights of clear skies and could see the majestic peaks of the Himalaya from Dhulikhel. The rooms are nicely furnished, with very good quality beds. The main building hosted breakfast and dinner – the latter offered a buffet and a la carte options, which we chose four of the five nights. The staff was very friendly and attentive: from umbrellas (yes, we needed them) to serving meals, cleaning rooms, and room service for food and drinks, everything was well taken care of and we felt truly at home. The resort is a good quality hotel, but don’t expect a European five‑star experience (though they have an infinity pool). The value‑for‑money was good for us, and we’ll definitely return if we have more business in the area. Just a word of caution: the last 50 m to the hotel are unpaved, breakfast coffee isn’t served from an Italian‑bean machine, and visiting a hotel in Asia is different from the “over‑tourism” in western countries.
