The lady who greeted me was nice, but I think she took advantage of my goodwill; I paid for a double‑bed room yet arrived alone and she suggested the third floor was safer than the first because men were there, ending up in a single‑bed cubicle. The tiny room was swapped after she raised a scare, and I accepted the single on the third floor, which had no sheets until I asked, a wooden window without glass, a bathroom whose drain fell inward, and a door in terrible condition.

“quebra galho pra quem ta na estrada”

The price and motorcycle garage were fine, and breakfast was okay, but the bed was broken, the ceiling fan didn’t work, and the replacement unit they left was so noisy I couldn’t sleep with it on.
