Perched atop Monforte de Lemos, the Parador de Monforte de Lemos occupies a 17th‑century Benedictine monastery, offering panoramic town views and access to the Ribeira Sacra countryside. Luxurious, spacious rooms blend neoclassical décor with historic cloister charm. Guests dine on locally caught game, stroll manicured gardens, swim outdoors, relax in a hot tub, or work out in the gym.

Come gli ospiti valutano la struttura, aspetto per aspetto.
We’ve stayed here twice and the location is excellent. The breakfast waitress from Manchester was the most pleasant, attentive, helpful and efficient. Thank you.😄 The bar waitress was probably the rudest, most arrogant, ignorant person I’ve ever met. She clearly doesn’t enjoy her job, and her attitude means we’ll never stay at this Parador again!

Nice and comfortable room. Spotlessly clean and quiet. The pool area was disappointing, with no terrace for eating or sitting.

The hotel’s location and the charm of the central building are good. The room is spacious and the bedding comfortable. However, the list of shortcomings for this “parador” is long and does not match its reputation: no one helped us with our luggage (we had to take two stairs and two elevators to reach our room). The annex building where we stayed had no charm and a dark corridor. The bathroom was dated. The pool was small compared to the size of the hotel and was almost always shaded during opening hours. The restaurant was not worthy of a parador. For example: opening hours (20:30) are very Spanish even though the clientele is more international (who eat earlier). We asked for a beer and a glass of white wine. The waiter didn’t offer us a choice (as is usual) and immediately poured full glasses… What did we drink? Another waiter placed our dishes on the table while looking elsewhere… Some tables were “cleaned” between courses but not ours… At the start of the meal we asked to share two starters… Result: each of us was given a starter in front of us and we had to swap plates… Disappointed, the next day we decided to eat at the cafeteria. It took an hour and a half to finish two drinks and two pizzas. We even went straight to the counter to pay the bill to shorten the total waiting time.

The building, the calm, the breakfast. The access was a problem.

The place itself is pure history, and staying there is a privilege. The breakfast is very complete and tasty. There isn’t really anything we didn’t like; if I had to mention something it would be the lack of soundproofing in the rooms because we could hear people in the hallway, but we didn’t hear anything at bedtime or late at night. I understand that due to the age of the building it may not be easy to soundproof.
