The location was fantastic, right on the waterfront with yachts, though you have to be prepared to climb 156 steps to reach the apartment. A bakery and a grocery store are a 5‑minute walk to the right, and a TOMMY supermarket with good cooking options is 10‑15 minutes to the left. The Old Town is a 40‑minute walk, and you can combine the stroll with scenic views, especially at sunset from the lookout. A 10‑minute bus ride to Banje beach costs €1.87. Uvala Lapad beach is a 20‑minute walk or bus ride. St. James beach is also accessible by bus to the Old Town, then a 15‑minute walk. We spent an entire day in the town of Cavatat, which was indescribably beautiful. From Dubrovnik, a 10‑minute bus takes about an hour; the ticket is €4 one‑way. There are also beaches there for a full day. For accommodation, we rented a two‑person room. On the floor, there are two two‑room units and a studio. The studio has its own bathroom and kitchen. The rooms do not have kitchens, and the bathroom is shared among the two rooms on that floor. We felt no discomfort because the host cleaned several times a day and kept everything very clean. The host was very sweet and worried about our enjoyment. The room was small but had everything: a kettle, a stove we didn’t use, dishes, tea, coffee, sugar, salt, and various little items that were nice to see. There were even beach towels. It was very quiet, had air conditioning, and good sound insulation. The ceiling was slanted (in the second‑floor room) and we regularly bumped our heads against it near the bed, but that was a minor issue.
