La Folie Lodge, located 8 km from World Heritage Wat Phou, offers Mekong River views and free Wi-Fi. The hotel features an outdoor pool, free round-trip shuttle boat services to Don Daeng Island, and a 45 km drive from Pakse Airport. Spacious rooms have air conditioning, fans, safes, and balconies, while the open-air restaurant serves Western cuisine and Laotian specialties.

The hotel is stunning, the rooms are very pleasant, and the food is good. The staff are attentive, and the pool and view are superb. However, the prices for food and extra services—especially massages—are at least three times higher than elsewhere in Laos, with no clear reason other than lack of competition, giving a nasty feeling of being overcharged while everything else is top.

The VIP house is a faithful copy of an old colonial home—simply amazing. The welcome was great, the pool and massages were superb, and we spent three incredible days in a very nice place to relax.

The place was extra, the furnishings refined, the staff attentive, the spa incredible, and the pool very beautiful. The bed was a bit hard, the meal prices were a bit high, and bike maintenance needs improvement.

Incredibly beautiful location, on an island in the middle of the river. Excellent reception with fresh wipes, welcome drinks, even head and neck massages; the staff were very friendly, 95 % from the island; the grounds, garden, and pool were well maintained. The food was good. The charming rooms were in colonial style. Power cuts happen but fortunately don’t last long.
