The cottages were perfect. The distance to the city was just right; we had our own tuk‑tuk and were close to the restaurants. Everything was unusually clean compared to the rest of Sri Lanka. The host was extremely kind and helpful. Waking up in the morning with that view isn’t something you see often. Highly recommended!

Exceptional! One of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed in. The best in Sri Lanka! We were welcomed with great kindness and generosity. The accommodation is perfect with a magnificent view of nature. Every detail is considered so we lack nothing. Breakfast is complete, hearty, and delicious, changing daily. To reach Ella’s center, the host gave us a tuk‑tuk number that was very responsive and served as a taxi every day. Expect 1200–1500 rupees for a round trip to Ella’s center. The tuk‑tuk ride is only 5 minutes, quick and efficient. I strongly recommend this balance that offers calm while still enjoying Ella’s center easily. In short: go for it! It’s a timeless, restorative place.

I stayed in a tiny cabin perched up on the mountain, close to Ella; every detail was crafted with care and it had everything you could need. Nothing was lacking.

The place was exceptional, the host was sweet and attentive, and the breakfast was the best in Sri Lanka; you could even spot deer and squirrels.

The accommodation was gorgeous and by far the best we had in Sri Lanka, set in a quiet spot surrounded by nature sounds and away from the noise and bustle of Ella. It was reachable within 15 minutes by tuk‑tuk, and our host Sapu always arranged for a quick and very cheap ride. The veranda offered a wide view, and at night the beautifully lit stupa of the Buddhist Mahamevnava monastery across the valley was a magical sight. We saw various animals from the veranda, even a mousedeer. The room, bathroom, and veranda were thoughtfully designed, spacious, functional, clean, and aesthetically pleasing in every detail. Breakfast was delicious and, like everything else on that lovely property, lovingly prepared by Sapu himself. We could talk to Sapu about anything; he was a very warm, sensitive, and interested man who was always reachable. He gave us many valuable tips for activities in and around Ella and for our onward travel, a great restaurant recommendation (Serenite), and he supported us with his insider knowledge and local connections. This stay will surely remain one of the highlights; we give it a 10 with no reservations. If we ever return to Ella, we will definitely stay here again.
