“No lo recomiendo”
I was stuck at a place 1km from the train station, climbing a lot of stairs up a hill. The lodging smelled like cat droppings, the bathroom was covered in other people's hair, and the shower floor was yellow. The staff member who handled check‑in had a mouth full of tartar, smelled bad, and also made breakfast. They only offered sparkling water, no heating, and the blankets were poor. I paid for two days but left after 8 hours because I couldn’t stand it. I had a terrible time. The owner took photos of my dog and then started taking photos of me, which made me feel uncomfortable and unsafe. I don’t recommend it and some photos are fake.
The best hostess we've ever had
“Great!”
The stay was a short walk (5‑10 minutes max) from the town center, and the main path drops you straight into the heart of town. The host was fantastic—very nice and helpful. Although she didn’t speak English, she was very skilled with the translator app and patient. She offered a lot of local information and background. Her breakfast options were extensive. Excellent host and a great experience.
“Por hacer”
The place needs finishing touches. The concept is good: two rooms close to the center. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, and everything was new—sheets, towels. It was very cold (Sicily’s houses don’t have heating, they use a heat‑pump). The heat‑pump was in the room, but the bathroom and kitchen had none, so it was chilly (we wore coats in the kitchen where breakfast was served). I hope they install it; otherwise, they can’t host guests. The smell of cat urine on the stairs is unbearable. If you have a cat, you can’t stay here.
“En lo más alto de Agrigento”
The room’s size and comfort were great. Danico was friendly and sympathetic, going out of his way to keep us comfortable. Breakfast was simple but sufficient. The location on the hilltop, close to the Domus, was fine despite Agrigento’s complexity.
