“great views, dated facility, very clean and kept - a blast from the past hotels”
The location is breathtaking, with a lake view, a bridge, and a forest turning red in autumn. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the hotel is about a 10‑15 minute drive from restaurants. The onsen was decent and conveniently located next to Kisso Valley. The hotel feels old and tired—70s style with dated keys and décor, though the rooms were clean and well kept. Breakfast was a classic Japanese buffet with no options for western guests, so skip it unless you enjoy a heavy Japanese breakfast with fish, rice, and the whole nine yards. Wi‑Fi is horrible.
