The hotel is close to the park, but I was told to leave and was yelled at by a man—probably management or the owner—while surrounded by all the staff. He stood over me, irate, and kicked me out because he didn't like my reviews. I have photos of about 15 mosquitos in the room. The hot water heater didn't work for the shower, and the toilet lid kept falling off. The people are not nice; I feared it could turn physical. A Filipino employee told me to report this to the police after an American was killed in Dumaguete a month earlier. I've never been treated like that, especially by a hotel manager or owner, and the behavior was threatening.

The hotel is within walking distance of the park, yet the staff never smiled or spoke much to me—I'm American and it felt unfriendly. When I sat on the toilet, my knees touched the wall. The rooms were small, the AC vents were broken so I couldn't control the airflow, blackouts happened daily, rats were always outside crawling around, the security guard stared at me, bathrooms were tiny, and water was always everywhere.

I found the stay budget‑friendly with clean bedding and good air conditioning, and there were nearby restaurants and malls, but there was no bidet.

I liked how close Anri Pension House was to my destination and the rate was acceptable, but the room wasn’t soundproof—noise from other rooms and outside could be heard. The TV signal wasn’t working when I booked, and the property needs better security for guests coming in and out.
