Winnedumah Hotel

“Great hotel along the Eastern Sierra corridor with tons more charm than a motel!”

This vintage hotel, recently remodeled but still in progress, has all the essential elements finished, making the stay comfortable. The large lobby with cozy seating and the adjacent dining room were tastefully arranged. Breakfast was a classic European continental spread with plenty of good coffee. The only drawback was the lack of an elevator, which made carrying luggage to the second floor a bit tough for an older couple.

“Was like a great HOMECOMING after a couple of closures.I love the atmosphere st the Winnedums”

The breakast was a +10--quality granola, Chobani Greek yoghurt, whole wheat bread for toast. The dining area had a cafe atmosphere. The hostess was interesting to talk to. The restorations are great. Been coming to the Winneduma since Mavey owned the hotel & there we're hostel rooms. The garden, but the hostess said a gardener was coming in to restore the landscapelandscspe

“Let’s keep history alive in Independence!”

The historic hotel, recently refurbished on Main St (Hwy 395) in Independence, offered a very comfortable and peaceful room with wood floors that added to the ambiance. I’m looking forward to staying there again. The breakfast, however, felt more like snacks than a full meal.

We really enjoyed this quirky hotel that had a genuine old‑world feel. The staff were excellent and informative, cleanliness was very good, and we’d happily return if we’re in the area. The only improvement would be adding some shelf space and hooks in the bathroom so guests can store items instead of leaving them on the floor, but it’s a minor issue.
