Hotel Topkapı

The place was just okay in terms of location, but the staff was friendly; I was shocked by the room – it was small, overlooking a ruin, the power was off, no blankets, I had to request blankets and toilet paper and had the room cleaned multiple times, so I started cleaning it myself; I asked to change rooms because the beds were extremely uncomfortable and tiny, yet the other room was also small and the bathroom was tiny, so I canceled my vacation and left; when I asked if a partial refund was possible they said no; the photos looked beautiful but the reality was very disappointing, though the staff was nice.

“It was nice and satisfying stay .”

The location is good, the room is clean and the staff, especially at reception, is very helpful, and the price is reasonable; however, there’s no proper soundproofing between rooms – voices and cigarette smoke seep in – and the breakfast is very limited.

“The hotel was not worth the money spent.”

The hotel was clean, but on the first day I put a “do not disturb” sign on the door because I had all my belongings out; when I left and returned, the staff still accessed the room and it was clean despite the sign; the bathroom lacked a mirror and a shelf, so I couldn’t shave; most rooms face the street, making the room noisy.
