I booked a two‑night stay for two people and expected a microwave to heat our food, but room 11 was too small for two adults and lacked a microwave. Still, the place is beautiful and clean.

“Pleasant stay.”

The location is good, but the gate security was weak when someone who wasn’t a guest followed us one evening, and the sound from the adjacent room carried into the room I stayed in.

“A Convenient Home Away From Home”

I always choose Valley Lodge because it’s so convenient—close to great restaurants, shopping, and all the amenities around Kloof, Hillcrest, and the surrounding areas. The rooms are spacious with a small lounge area, making the stay feel more comfortable than a typical hotel room. There’s secure on‑site parking, and the property is gated, which is a bonus. The staff are always friendly, welcoming, and helpful, and getting to the airport is straightforward via the M19. It’s become my reliable home away from home—convenient, comfortable, and well‑located. The shower over the bath was a bit slippery despite the rubber mat, and the steep climb in and out of the bath felt like an expedition. The basin was very high—was it designed by a giant? For anyone with mobility concerns, the bath setup could be a little challenging.

“Lovely stay in Hillcrest”

The gardens are gorgeous, the food is top‑class, and the staff are very friendly, though the rooms and bathrooms could use an upgrade.
