I stayed close to the airport and found the place pretty nice. If you’re heading to Hollywood it’s a bit inconvenient because it’s about 5 min by taxi, but there’s a TJ Maxx (just like our TK Maxx) with beautiful, very affordable designer brands, and supermarkets are also nearby. Public transport in the city was used, but it was somewhat complicated with transfers, though still cheap. The staff were very friendly, and we were allowed to hang out at the pool after a late flight using our card to get in, which was really nice. The reception was very helpful and the bar staff were kind and capable. The bar itself was pricey, but that’s on you if you order six chicken wings for about 20 € without a side. The supposed three stars were actually more like four. I definitely recommend it, and it was quiet despite being close to the airport. The shuttle worked great, and the parking garage cost only 24 $ per day. Breakfast was fairly decent for a U.S. standard; I brought my own cheese and only got toast, coffee, and yogurt. Beware of the ladies with blond hair or streaks. I used the hot tub and ended up with green hair—thank God that was on our return trip :-) I’m often in chlorine and nothing happens in Germany; it’s not the chlorine itself but oxidized copper in the water according to Ki. It looks relaxed, but it’s not pretty or fun, so be careful! The prices are similar to other hotels near the airport, and there are few restaurants nearby, so skip the healthy food. A carls burger is about a 15‑minute walk, tasty and affordable.
