I liked the spot in Red Lake, a big house with several vendors and a nice deck on the lake, plus a lively restaurant/bar. One of the two bathrooms had no shower, and it would have been handy if they offered coffee with the machine.

We didn't get breakfast. The rear parking lot felt a bit wonky and uneven, which made me uneasy about parking my motorcycle.

We’ve stayed at the Howey many times before heading to our fly‑out fishing resort, and we like how close it is to town. We’ve had bear issues at the Super 8, but we enjoy the price and the bar is nice. Unfortunately, our room was filthy: the floor was damp, so I had to wear shoes, which grossed me out; my husband’s socks were black with dirt; the bathroom was pretty gross; a white towel on the floor turned black with filth after showering; the beds were okay; and the TV kept cutting out.
