Parkhotel Helmstedt

“Einmal und nie wieder!”

It gives a first nice impression, but I wasn’t clearly told that the reception closes at 21:30, so at 22:30 I found the door locked. The “Check in” kiosk was broken, and a sign directed me to call the Best Western, where I was told I should have asked beforehand. The carpet in the room is full of dark stains. The internet claims there’s a restaurant, but there’s none on site. As a “Parkhotel” in Bad Helmstedt, one expects something different; the place doesn’t live up to that name.

The location is nicely central and not far from the motorway. There was a coffee machine with four coffee pods and tea. The way we checked in was odd—we had to drive to another hotel to check in and get an access card, and there was no staff at the hotel.

“Ich war nur eine Nacht dort. Dafür ist das Hotel gut gelegen und sehr ordentlich.”

A charming older hotel with a certain character; the room was very clean and tidy, but the TV wouldn't turn on and there was no option to have breakfast on site.

A very pretty old hotel – definitely worth recommending; we’ll gladly return. Nothing to complain about.

A very beautiful hotel, lovingly furnished in an English style. Unfortunately no breakfast was offered; the breakfast room and bar were present but closed, and the beer garden, though idyllic, had no staff.
