Bandlive Backpacker Hostel

Absolutely nothing was good about this place. First of all it was extremely dirty, the floor in my room was sticky, there were hair from the previous guest and an ashtray. They first showed me to a dormitory, and when I told them I had booked a private room they showed me another empty dormitory. The smell in that room was like you hadn't opened a window for a week and kept your clothes wet there the whole time. It still wasn't the room I booked, so “then they remembered that there was another room” and the person “just checked out” (I arrived after 23:00) but they needed 15 minutes to clean it. I saw it before and after “clean up” and it looked exactly the same. I don't think they even changed the bedsheets—they smelled like an old man. I stayed there just one night and could hear a guy next door snoring. Also in the lobby there was music blasting at 10am and some guy was drinking and singing; he behaved very aggressively toward the receptionist when he was taking my payment for the night. I felt very unsafe and disgusted in this place. I should have read more reviews online; I'm not the only one with that experience.

The owner, a very nice and friendly guy, also runs the reception and helps customers whenever needed; the hostel is clean, quiet, and the beds are good for resting after a journey. Thanks!

“Goood location goood boss and clean bed”

The place is well located and the service is good, with a handsome and friendly boss; it’s clean and I love it, so I’ll definitely return. No complaints.

The Hong Kong reception guy is very friendly and seems to be the owner too; the hostel is small but very clean and quiet, perfect for sleeping after a long trip, and the price is great—worth a 10‑star rating.

This hostel is terrible. They checked me in, bed 37 in the female room. Then removed my stuff and check another's guest in that same bed without telling me anything or arrange another bed. When I come back from outside another's guest is staying in my bed and when I called they make up excuses saying there isnt anyone at the reception when that guests arrive and try to blame the other guest and tell me to just look for another empty bed in the room and take it. This owner clearly do not know the basics rules to run such a business, clearly a privacy violation. Room infrastructure is so old. Female room has 6 beds with a space about 2x2m for luggage & walk. Super small. Awful management. There isn't a good common space and good crowd for socialising either if you look for something like that. It's still ok for the price if not the terrible management
