The Crown was a perfect stop for a one‑night break while traveling with my elderly mother from North Yorkshire to Dorset on the motorway; the food, facilities, and staff were great, and the location offers plenty for a longer stay to explore the area. We had an accessible room with two double beds and excellent value. I had to ask on arrival to have the second bed made up, even though it was requested in the original booking, but that was sorted quickly.

Breakfast was good and the location was ideal for a wedding reception in the town, but the room was very warm and noisy because there were no windows, only skylights, one of which was slightly open.

I found the place incredibly cozy and pleasant, and I’d definitely recommend it. The only hiccup was that breakfast took 30 minutes to arrive and the lad was on his own, so a few more staff would make things smoother.
