From the moment I stepped into the first‑floor lobby, the vibe of Chungcheong‑nam Province was everywhere, that overwhelming scent that hits you in famous hotels—except here it was a fresh, clean aroma that felt invigorating. I booked two nights over the Chuseok holiday and usually stay in a suite, but this time everything filled up quickly so I got a room with two small beds and still rested well. I asked for an extra night at the last minute and they managed to fit me in for a third day, making the whole stay comfortable. The lobby was bustling because of the holiday, but the guests were well‑mannered, so I could relax in peace. The room was spotless, and I’m grateful for the staff’s careful and friendly attention. The natural light, the view of the sea at Mu‑chang‑po, the tidy atmosphere, and the cozy bed all felt like gifts from Hotel Teramar.

The room only had shampoo and no conditioner, and even the single‑use items seemed like an excuse; I had to ask for two more bottles, three towels for the morning, and a bathrobe, which were never provided without asking. The place felt more like an inn than a hotel, the room was cramped, the bed was low, and the mattress was substandard.

We stumbled upon Hotel Teramar in Ungcheon‑eup, Boryeong, and it turned out to be a healing spot for my spouse and me, offering a sleep more comfortable than home; we’d gladly return. The bed and blankets felt just like at home, yet the sleep was even sweeter at Teramar, the sea view from room 502 was gorgeous, and the cleanliness was unmistakable—basic quality done right. A few months earlier we’d stayed at a well‑known hotel in Gunsan and found spider webs under the bed and food residue stuck in a corner of a sofa, plus dim lighting that made us complain at the front desk; we even considered posting photos but held back. In contrast, Teramar gave us a spotless bathtub, a cozy atmosphere, and a fully recharged feeling the next morning—so we’re definitely heading back.

The spot was convenient and the large window offered a nice sea view, but compared with other areas it didn’t present any price advantage and I couldn’t tell the difference from a motel.
