The pool, coffee and hot chocolate were abundant, yet we asked for dinner three times and were constantly given vague promises; as a Booking guest we felt unwelcome, and a photo in the lift that I wanted to copy was lost when we had to leave unexpectedly on day six because my father‑in‑law was in intensive care, only to be told that because we booked through Booking there would be no refund, whereas a direct booking would have offered one—the “direct‑booking advantage” was scribbled out on an A4 sheet. My son’s bed turned out to be a loft bed, which was impractical for our adult boys.
