A few minutes’ walk from Kyoto Station puts you in a quiet area that’s still well connected, with several konbini on the route and plenty of great restaurants nearby. The only downside was the shower curtain’s odor.

I might have overlooked the website and booked without knowing children weren’t allowed, so when I asked at check‑in the staff tried to contact the manager but couldn’t reach him; they still let me stay and later confirmed it was fine, and the light breakfast helped since I was staying with my child. The cleanliness had issues: a few hairs remained in the bathtub and there was dust on the fridge top. I’d been booked for one adult and one child, but was told on arrival that children couldn’t stay, which was stressful, yet they accommodated us after all.
