The Junction Hotel and Hostel

The hotel’s location is convenient, close to the main road and a lovely riverside park along the Animas River, and the free laundry service is handy. The lobby was dirty and disorganized, the staff seemed indifferent (perhaps a house policy) and were unhelpful at the front desk and overall service. The room was clean but dated; the property is past its prime and needs a comprehensive refresh, both in equipment and staff.

“Well placed stay in Durango”

The room was a good size, the bed was comfortable, and all the equipment worked perfectly. Being on the main road through Durango made it easy to reach nearby attractions. Early‑morning noise was an issue, as people showered and moved luggage, and sound seeped through the walls, which was quite disturbing.

“Terrible Accomodations!”

I didn’t find much to like. The place was filthy, rooms had a strong odor, and we had several rooms. There was no staff on site at night. One room sounded like construction was happening until 11 pm, another had people running up and down the halls until 10 pm. My room had hair everywhere and a large clump stuck to the sink; the shower leaked onto the floor. The beds were awful: one had no box spring, the other had memory foam with holes and divots.

“Not worth the money, but that's the only affordable option in Durango”

The garden patio table was a nice touch, but I had to persuade the front desk that there were still dorm beds left.
