The breakfast is the best ever in a place like this in my life. The room is a bit old-fashioned and convent-like, but that isn’t a flaw—perhaps it’s a charm.

The welcome, the cleanliness, and the restaurant were all excellent.

The attached restaurant is a plus, with excellent cuisine, genuine breakfast with every good thing. Nothing else, everything was fine.

The story of the young couple who bought and restored the building, the restaurant, the chef, the dream library, the terrace with its view, and the lady who feels… is unforgettable; I recommend spending at least two days and a night: check‑in, lunch at the restaurant, wine, dinner at the restaurant, wine, outdoor breakfast with a reading of the genesis story of the place illustrated on the placemat… and at departure, a hug and thanks to the lady. Afterwards explore every corner of Portico di Romagna; I don’t want to spoil too much—spoiling a film, especially a good one, is a pity. The negative point is the reviews from ignorant people who don’t know the history of the location and the lady; now that I think of it, every room should have a framed placemat with the genesis story of the hotel/restaurant so even the most distracted guests can learn.

The breakfast was great and plentiful, the setting comfortable and distinctive, but the restaurant’s organization could use some improvement.
