The hotel was convenient for the city center. The front‑desk girl was kind enough to change our room. As soon as we arrived, the bathroom lacked toilet paper and the sheets were quite dirty; luckily, after we mentioned it they swapped the room. There was no bath mat, and because there was no shower curtain or shower box the water flooded the floor. Overall hygiene seemed very low. The price matched other Malaysian hotels, but there are better options around.

The staff were super friendly and the price was good. The bed sheets were not very clean.

I stayed at Salaam Suites Hotel from 14 to 16 July 2026 and overall it was a pleasant experience. The hotel offers good value, especially if you want an affordable place in Kota Bharu. The staff were a highlight: everyone I met was friendly, welcoming, and helpful, making check‑in and the rest of my stay smooth. The location is a major plus, close to the bus terminal, restaurants, and many main attractions, so exploring the city was easy. For the price, the hotel provides good value compared to others in the area. All facilities worked as expected, the room layout was practical, and the bathroom was surprisingly spacious. I also liked the many power outlets, which let me charge several devices at once. There were a few drawbacks, though. The hot water was unreliable, which was disappointing. Even though my room had a window, the view was just a wall, so there was no natural scenery or daylight. Breakfast wasn’t included in the room rate, and the hotel requires a RM50 refundable deposit at check‑in. Also, the key card for my room didn’t work during my stay, so I had to use the manual key.
