The location is great, but the service lacks the classic Ritz‑Carlton charm—ladies and gentlemen serve ladies and gentlemen.
The service was brilliant from everyone, including housekeeping.
The staff were very friendly, the breakfast was good, the spa masseuses were excellent, and the location is great with a mall nearby. The hotel feels a bit worn out, there’s a smell in the rooms, the minibar is quite sparse (snacks aren’t restocked), and the toiletries are only refilled for a few showers – the bottles are almost empty, not enough for a foamy bath; I’ve never seen that at any Ritz. The pool can only be used with a hat; I don’t mind, but it’s not very comfortable.
The rooms are spacious and in a classic style, the location is excellent, everything is clean, and the views of the river and Canton Tower are beautiful. The restaurants are superb and delicious, but the ventilation systems need fixing and the floor coverings should be replaced—there’s a strong smell of mold rather than dampness.
