Great spot, super friendly staff, very peaceful and clean. The shower runs on solar, so the heat depends on the weather and the water pressure isn’t great.

The host offered excellent customer service and the place was very peaceful. The beach next to the house was lovely and a good escape for couples and families wanting to disconnect. Getting to Shela and Lamu was easy, and the house is a one‑minute walk to the famous Majlis restaurant. Privacy and security were high. We enjoyed breakfast, and the chef and house‑cleaning lady were always inside the compound to meet our needs. We loved it. It was really good, with a touch of Swahili décor.

The seaside location, the calm, and the friendly people were great, and Mascha and his family were wonderful. I’m not usually a complainer, but it’s simply too expensive for an upper‑floor unit that’s a bit dated. The setup is basic, a small fridge is missing, the mosquito nets should be replaced, and a couple of water bottles in the room would have been nice. We would have appreciated a towel change after three days. Tip: lower the price so expectations aren’t so high.

We loved the privacy, the beach, the distance to town and restaurants, the staff’s hospitality, and the entire private beach area. Facilities were cleaned daily, and breakfast was called at the time you preferred. Everything was wonderful, but the food options and preparation could be better. They mentioned they aren’t professional chefs and food is available within walking distance at Majilis, which was a minor issue for us. Also, bring mosquito spray because it gets a bit annoying at night.

The spot was great and the gardens opened straight onto the beach, but the drainage problems stayed unresolved and the water supply was still an issue.
