“Excellent.”

The host welcomed us warmly, made us feel at home, was friendly and very helpful in arranging visits. When I was sick on the boat she quickly made me comfortable in the front room and brewed herbal tea. Later she took us to a restaurant and collected us after our first night in Gurensey. We returned to Hillcrest Lodge, where she had already put our bags in the room and laid out clean towels. The fridge in the room was a bonus. The accommodation was tastefully decorated; the bedroom had a garden view and the whole house looked nice. My partner and I rested beautifully, with no noise to disturb us, and we felt at peace. We will definitely stay at Hillcrest Lodge again and will recommend it to friends and relatives if they ever plan to visit Gurensey. There was nothing to dislike.

When we first couldn’t find the property, a quick phone call later the host drove us, found us, and gave us a short lift to her home. We were made very welcome and soon felt at home. Great host, great accommodation, and a great long weekend away in the perfect location for us. Nothing else to say.
