“Bene ma non benissimo”
The property itself isn’t bad, but you have to adapt. Our room’s door stayed open by at least 5 cm, so I stuffed towels in to keep animals out. It’s hard to find, every door looks the same and there’s no sign. The bathroom is definitely in need of a makeover, a bit run‑down and not super clean, but you can get used to it. The room was spacious and clean, great for a single night. I would have used the pool if it hadn’t been fully occupied by guests from another room who had taken it as a private pool. The location is convenient but a bit far from restaurants and other amenities, so you’ll need to call a taxi. A major drawback: they use an attached warung for the bar/restaurant. We sat down, looked at the menu on the table, and suddenly a lady took the menus from our hands, saying they weren’t understandable because they weren’t translated. She gave us other menus in English with completely different dishes, and the common ones had much higher prices. I wanted to eat local Indonesian food, not burgers and “pasta bolognese” (I’m from Bologna, and even abroad I don’t eat that). The tourist who wants nuggets will always be there, but I wanted an alternative, so I could choose whether to eat local or not. Another. I still haven’t figured out who to contact in case of need. A lady appeared the next morning for payment; was she the owner? I only saw her in that context and never again. Two other elderly figures (probably parents) don’t speak English. Patience, you adapt. It’s fine as a maximum one‑night stay, nothing more.
