Squirrel Lodge with Hot Tub

I’ll write a full review once the owners call me, but it wasn’t fit for purpose.

“3rd year on the trot to this site and 3rd different lodge, lovely area but would let come back to this lodge”

The spot was great, but I ran into a bunch of cobwebs inside and out, the TV only worked after linking it and only with Android phones. Both mattresses were hard and uncomfortable, bird poo on the decking, the furniture was too small to move for sun, and the hot tub cooled down quickly. It seemed like nothing had been attended to since the 18th April because the date cubes were still in place.

The area was nice, yet I left a couple of expensive items by mistake and called back within hours of leaving the lodge only to find they had been thrown away or marked ‘not found’. With the price we paid, I would have expected the lodge to keep guests’ belongings for a few hours so we could retrieve them before they were discarded.

“Lovely family short break.”

Everything was really nice, warm, clean and cosy. The only slight drawback was that the mattress on the bed needed replacing and there were dirty baking trays in the oven.

I loved the location, the lodge was fantastic and the hot tub was great. The only issue was that the restaurant and bar accepted card payment only, while some of my family could only bring cash.
