It was pretty awful. I had to go out into town to make change for the room fee, and the owner was rude. When I asked to switch from a tent to a room, they treated me like a poor person and said it was expensive. The place was sticky, and the bathroom was locked, so I couldn’t use the shower.
“It was okay for one night based on the price.”
Carla was very nice and the water pressure was strong, but the beds in the triple room were uncomfortable, the bathroom was tiny, and a faulty basin pipe leaked water onto the floor and my clothes. The toilet seat was loose. The accommodations we used, a party of five, would benefit from a renovation. I chose to stay for one night after reading reviews, but I can’t echo the positive comments because I didn’t experience what others wrote. There were other rooms on the property, so the comments likely come from those. Electrical outlets need inspection, and parking is difficult.
Carla was an amazing host, and the staff were all very kind. The spot is great, close to the beach and lagoon.
The surroundings are gorgeous, the place is spotless, cozy, and safe. Carla is warm, helpful, and fascinating, and her family is equally welcoming. Everyone on her team is kind. The beach, shops, and taxi stops are right outside the gate, so all of Portland’s beautiful spots are practically at your doorstep. We cooked in the guest kitchen, and Carla gave us fantastic recommendations. Learning about her social work was a highlight. I’d love to return and highly recommend it.
The host and staff were all very nice, making me feel at ease. The location is very quiet, allowing you to truly unplug and enjoy nature. Nothing was lacking; everything was perfect.
