I Capricci Di Merion - Resort & Spa is an Art Nouveau building in Umbrian countryside, 2 km from Lake Trasimeno. The resort features country-style rooms, an outdoor pool with hydromassage and lake views, and an indoor pool with olive grove views. A wellness centre, traditional restaurant serving local specialties, and air-conditioned rooms with oak-beam ceilings and handmade furniture are also offered.

I was already familiar with the property, but in summer it really shines: the outdoor pool offers a stunning view of the lake and a bar service, the indoor pool is gorgeous, and dinner is divine even in the garden lit with lights; the breakfast deserves special mention, with plenty of excellent sweets and a wide selection.

The cleanliness was spot‑on, the outdoor pool shaded by trees and the indoor pool with its waterfall and hydro‑massage jets were fantastic, and the restaurant food was truly excellent. The eco‑suite felt unique and was ideal for a 2‑3‑day stay, the spa route was very relaxing, the staff were always helpful, and there were shaded parking spots. The only downside was that the Wi‑Fi in the eco‑suite dropped out after about an hour, though it didn’t really affect our stay.

The stay was exceptional, the property is well‑maintained and the staff friendly and professional. The restaurant is a hidden gem (remember the cappelletti, ricciola, and caponata). Breakfast and cleanliness are good, the two pools and the SPA are excellent, and the eco suite, though small, has a pleasant private outdoor space that makes it special and secluded. A well‑deserved 10, we’ll definitely return.

The place has insane charm and privacy, a bucolic pool, a privatizable spa, a climate‑controlled room, and the staff are kind! Breakfast is very good but lacks salty items.
