It’s a motel‑style roadside spot right beside Townsville’s Strand. The front desk sits in a beautiful old building that oddly isn’t used for lodging. The rooms are in a modern, plain annex and provide the basic comforts for a night. The price is moderate and it’s a 15‑minute walk to the ferry for Magnetic Island. Luis, a very friendly young Argentine, handled reception and helped us a lot.

The location was absolutely perfect for a long weekend. We arrived before check‑in and could store our luggage with no trouble. The street was super quiet, just a 5‑minute walk to cafés, a pub and the waterfront. We only walked 25 minutes to the Magnetic Island ferry and the footy stadium. MAGIC. The rooms felt slightly outdated, but they had everything we needed.
