Turtagrø Hotel

The location was fantastic, the beds were comfortable and breakfast was tasty. However, the villa was very noisy; it sounded as if the roof might collapse on us whenever people were upstairs. We dined at the hotel one evening, and while the food was good, the portions were small considering most of us had trekked far that day, and over 200 kr for a decent glass of red wine felt like a blood price.

The location and food were excellent, but apparently due to poor internal communication we ended up paying for food we never received. We had arranged over the phone that meals would be set aside for us while we were on the mountain; when we returned we were told the food was no longer available. After explaining the situation in detail, we received little empathy. In the end we chose not to pursue the matter further and paid half price for the food we never got, which left a somewhat disappointing ending to our stay.

“Lovely, comfortable hotel in the mountains”

The location was great for the start of our walk and the rooms were very comfortable, but the sleeping quarters were in a different building.

The location was good and the hotel itself was very pleasant. The only downside was the rapid service during dinner; the staff brought a bill for every bottle ordered at the table, which felt stressful and made us feel rushed to finish quickly instead of enjoying the time.
