“Ok”
Great location for walking the west highland way
“Convenient, comfortable and friendly site for walking the WHW”
Comfortable with appropriate facilities
“Cozy, safe glamping pod worthy of any hiking hobbit”
We booked one of the two‑person huts that includes a bathroom, and it was a real treat. Since we were the only ones on the WHW needing sleeping bags, we rented bedding and sleeping bags from the site, and they turned out perfect—especially because the summer heat wave meant we mostly slept on top of the sleeping bags and just used the liners. The hut was steamy when we arrived, but the system for opening the door to let air in worked great, and the window had a screen, so we could leave it open all night without worrying about midges. Opening the window and the door cooled the hut efficiently, and we slept very well at a comfortable temperature. Tyndrum’s city centre, with its excellent restaurants and shops, is just a short walk away, so after a long day’s hike on the WHW it was no problem to walk into town for food and other necessities. We also appreciated how quiet and cozy all the individual spaces were—everyone at the campground was polite and respectful, and it felt safe and comfortable. The staff were a total delight and very helpful. We also loved having an en‑suite bathroom, which felt luxurious after staying in hostels with shared bathrooms. The shared showers are what you’d expect at a campground—bring your own soap, shampoo, shower sandals, and towel. They were clean, and we were very appreciative of any shower after a long day’s hike on the WHW. Just make sure to come prepared with shower basics.
“Nice place to stay”
The huts were spotless and the beds were comfortable, and the location was spot‑on.
“Für Stop am WHW ok”
The cabin was clean, but the central showers could have been a bit cleaner.
