The spot is in a solid location and the staff are friendly, but everything else is just okay. Nothing blew me away, but nothing was a problem either.
The little kitchen is a lifesaver for backpackers, but winter was brutal—no heating, room just got the sheets changed, blankets were filthy with hair on them, and the cleaners would toss blankets on the floor and fold them for the next guest.
“You get what you pay for, i guess”
It’s cheap and close to Hordern Pavilion, and the volunteers are lovely, but the place is a mess—showers are disgusting, the light turns off mid‑shower and you have to open the public door to turn it back on, no towels, a leaking roof that made me keep a bowl on the floor, tiny toilets that open inward so you have to squeeze in, and the automatic sink has no soap. All in all, a pretty bad stay for the price.
A young guy helped me with my suitcase—really appreciated that. The place itself is just okay; it needs some maintenance. Some guests are a bit messy, forgetting it's a hostel, and the cleaning doesn’t keep up. The only real perk is the location.
“Very enjoyable, would recommend to anybody and would stay here again”
Great location, rooms are clean, and it’s right next to the stadiums, so it’s a solid choice if you’re into sports.
