“Not worth more than 5$ a night”
Rose looks nice, that’s all. The room was changed without mentioning on the booking site that the reserved room was not in Northern hostel 2 but Northern hostel, which means a completely different address, and the back side of my room was directly on Bui Vien walking street, a noise‑buffering block. Rose said higher floors are naturally louder, and when I asked to be moved to the second floor, which was empty, it was refused, even though it was empty on the first night. She then moved me to the first floor, where I was disturbed by neighbors who, according to Vietnamese tradition, mostly interact outside the house and are loud. Rose justified herself by saying “I mentioned it may be a little loud,” but she should have mentioned this important information on the booking website so guests could read it before reserving. Instead, the host used WhatsApp communication after the guest checked in and paid, meaning there was no chance to choose. By the way, unfortunately this is the scheme used by most hosts in Vietnam; to me they are not decent and truthful when it comes to business. Just stay away from them and book somewhere else to save your nerve and time.
