The breakfast was sumptuous, the décor very pretty, and we arrived in a small, quiet courtyard full of lovely succulents with a warm welcome. On 14 September, with the owners absent, they left a ticket for me to grab a much more basic and limited breakfast at a nearby café while I was heading to the bus for Verona. I had two options, with or without a change; both routes went in opposite directions, one north, one south. I asked the owner where the stop was, and he pointed to only one stop, probably thinking I’d take the direct one. The bus I had chosen left at the other stop, so I had to take a taxi to Bardolino. I was looking for a safe, and I thought there wasn’t one, but there was a safe hidden behind the daisies!
