“Estancia muy agradable”
The room and bathroom were spacious, and the bed was comfortable. The house is very pretty with a terrace, garden, and parking. It was very quiet, with no noise to disturb sleep. The owners were friendly and close.
We had booked a suite that should have included a living room with a sofa bed, a bedroom and a bathroom. When we arrived, we were given a 12 m² room with a “double bed” measuring 1.35 m × 1.90 m, a tiny bathroom and a small balcony – essentially the smallest room on the whole floor according to the hotel’s floor plan. After we complained that this was not the suite we reserved, the staff told us it counted as a suite because of the balcony, that we hadn’t paid yet and could look for something else if we didn’t like it – which was impossible on a Saturday night in high season, so we had to stay there for one night. The next morning we raised the issue again with the hotel owner and demanded the proper suite; he again insisted that the room we had was the suite we booked. When he realized we wouldn’t accept it, he escalated the matter, eventually cancelling our reservation and asking us to leave. The only positive note is that he never asked us to pay for the tiny room. The way he blew up the situation and rushed the cancellation makes us think this isn’t the first time a guest has been given a cramped “suite” and refused it. Interestingly, a few hours after we left, the previously fully booked hotel was able to accept a new “suite” booking.
The owners were kind, the breakfast area outside was nice, they made breakfast on the spot, and the town was peaceful. The room and bathroom were very spacious. The bed and pillow could be more comfortable.
“Suite gebucht - in besserer Abstellkammer untergebracht”
Other than the location, there was nothing. We booked a suite that included a living room with a sofa bed, a bedroom, and a bathroom. Upon arrival we were given a 12 qm room with a “double bed” sized 1.35 m × 1.90 m, a very small bathroom, and a small balcony. According to the hotel’s floor plan we received the smallest room on the entire floor. When we complained that this was not the suite we booked, we were told it was a suite because of the balcony and that we had not paid anything yet, so we could look for something else if we didn’t like it—mid‑high season on a Saturday night, of course, that was not possible, so we had no choice but to stay one night. The next morning we spoke again with the owner about the situation and demanded that he give us the booked suite. He again insisted that the room we had was the booked suite. When he realized we would not accept it, he escalated the situation, which ultimately led to him canceling the booking and kicking us out of the hotel. The only positive: he did not charge us for the mini‑room. The way he escalated the situation and the speed with which he carried out the cancellation suggests this may not be the first time someone books a suite, is placed in a poorer room, and does not accept it. It’s also interesting that a few hours after our departure a “suite” could be booked again in the previously fully booked hotel.
“Repetiriamos”
Tino and Gabi were very friendly and pleasant hosts, made us feel welcome, and their pet Ricky was adorable.
