“Amarcord”

The value for money in Lignano was excellent: the room was spacious, the staff were friendly, the setting was quiet, parking and the beach were included in a great resort. The hotel sits a little off‑centre, yet it’s very green, fully equipped, and faces the widest stretch of beach. That’s my favourite area, but that’s a personal preference. The breakfast was mediocre: probably fine for the many foreign guests, but the sweet options weren’t outstanding for an average Italian.

The staff were kind and helpful, everything was clean, and the food was tasty. The parking space in the hotel’s own lot was tight, so we parked in the parking garage 500 m away with our car.

The hotel’s location was good: about 3 minutes to the beach and roughly 10 minutes on foot to town. The staff were generally friendly except for the young janitor who reacted very unkindly to guests’ requests. The rooms were renovated and clean, but the corridors smelled old and musty – I’m not sure if it was the ancient carpet or the long‑unpainted walls. The whirlpool didn’t work, but at least it was present. Parking in the underground required leaving the car key at reception because the space is tight and cars are constantly moved. The underground was flooded, so we luckily secured a spot in a parking lot about 200 m from the hotel, as we didn’t want strangers moving our car. What we didn’t like at all was that about 95 % of the guests were between 70‑90 years old; the dining room and lobby felt more like a nursing home.

Everything was great! The hotel was very clean, especially the bathroom! The room was beautifully renovated, close to the sea and the city center, and the staff were very helpful. Nothing negative.
