The hotel was pleasant in the heart of Thamel. The room was well equipped and very comfortable. The staff were very attentive and responsive. The inner garden was nice. The noise from the nightclubs nearby some evenings was a problem; it was difficult to mitigate and significantly affected comfort. Traffic on the access street can be quite dangerous for pedestrians, so one must be very careful.

The hotel had a colonial vibe and was perfectly situated in Thamel’s tourist area. The staff were very accommodating, helping with taxi bookings, early check‑in, and luggage storage while we travelled elsewhere. They also gave us a breakfast pack when we had an early start. The hotel had everything we could possibly need.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel, which boasts an unbeatable location in and around Thamel. The palace-turned-boutique-property had a fabulous housekeeping team, and I enjoyed trying the delicious Nepali food. Although the gym could use some maintenance, I was grateful they had one, and the super attentive staff made me feel safe and supported as a solo traveler.

My room was a cozy haven, beautifully furnished and functional, and I appreciated the hotel's convenient location in Thamel with on-site parking. The efficient check-in and check-out process was a bonus. However, I did experience some smoke in my room at times, which seemed to come from the fireplace below, and there was some nighttime noise from a nearby site that wasn't the hotel's fault.

I was thoroughly impressed with every aspect of this hotel, from the management and staff to the facilities and location. The beautiful old building, once a royal residence, was a peaceful oasis in the midst of Kathmandu's chaos. The owner/manager's passion and pride in the hotel shone through, and I enjoyed the exceptional variety of food available all day. I didn't have any complaints about the hotel - it truly exceeded my expectations.
