São Lourenço do Barrocal is situated in the foothills of medieval Monsaraz and near Alqueva lake, spanning 780 hectares with a restaurant, bar lounge, pool bar, spa, fitness centre, winery, and store. Guest rooms and houses offer countryside views, air-conditioning, cable TV, coffee machines, and underfloor heating. Houses feature kitchens and dining areas, while the on-site restaurant serves traditional Alentejo cuisine.

I was blown away by everything: the host and owner were lovely, the staff were professional and exemplary, the setting and facilities were superb, the bushwalks were great, and the hand‑picked artisanal products from local makers, the wine, the cottages, the comfortable beds, and the quality linen all added up to a perfect stay. The only downside was the departure process.

The quinta is phenomenal, the food was excellent, the view of Monsaraz was very good, the staff were very friendly, and it was very comfortable. The chairs in the room could have been more comfortable, and the gym could have had a bit more equipment.

It’s an amazingly beautiful place with friendly staff and top‑class facilities and restaurants; the food is superb, especially the wide‑choice breakfast. The prices for paid activities are a touch high.
